BELOTERO

What is Belotero Balance?

Belotero Balance is a hyaluronic acid dermal filler designed to treat superficial lines and moderate to severe wrinkles on the face. It is very natural looking and adds subtle volume and plumpness to facial tissue with little to no downtime*. Since the gel is softer than most other products on the market, it integrates into the facial skin more easily and adapts well to facial contours. Patients treated with Belotero have stated that they see immediate results with reduction and softening of wrinkles but the results are more natural and subtle when compared with other hyaluronic acid fillers*. Belotero was approved by the FDA in March of 2011 and has been available in the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Russia, Austria, and Switzerland for several years.

Belotero may be used very close to the surface of the skin and integrates well with natural tissue. There is no bluish hue, called the Tyndall Effect, left under the skin which occasionally happens with other facial fillers, particularly when they are injected underneath the eye area where the skin is thin. Belotero is expected to last a bit longer than typical hyaluronic fillers*. In a clinical study, 66% of participants were still enjoying the effects of Belotero nine months after their treatment*.

Why Belotero Balance?

Developed by Merz Aesthetics, Belotero is the newest FDA-approved hyaluronic acid dermal filler for the treatment of superficial lines and moderate to severe wrinkles on the face. It is designed to add subtle volume and plumpness to facial tissue and offers beautiful, natural results by integrating easily with your own natural tissue.

Who is a good candidate for Belotero?

Age is not the best determinant of who will benefit from Belotero. Men and women of all ages who are concerned about the loss of volume in their face and those who wish to treat moderate to severe wrinkles with subtle, natural results will be good candidates for Belotero. As with all plastic surgery procedures and treatments, those who are realistic about what the treatment can and cannot accomplish and have realistic goals tend to be the most satisfied with their treatment.

Is there any downtime with Belotero?

Most patients return to their daily activities immediately following treatment*. If you have any slight redness or bruising in the treatment area, it can be easily camouflaged with concealer. We will be happy to assist you with any type of make-up needs prior to leaving our office.

How long does the treatment take?

In your consultation with our Medical Director Evelyn Spieker, you will discuss your goals for treatment, and he will make a recommendation about the best treatment options for you. The length of time for treatment will depend on the number of areas treated and whether complementary services are required, but a typical length of time for treatment would be around 20 minutes.

Is Belotero treatment uncomfortable?

Evelyn is an expert injection specialist and has many years of experience providing patients with comfortable services. Most patients find Belotero treatment less painful than other HA facial fillers because it blends easily with your own tissue and can be used very close to the surface of the skin for smooth, natural results*.

Are Belotero results permanent?

No, there are no hyaluronic acid facial fillers that are permanent. The HA in Belotero begins to dissipate over time just as your own natural HA does. This gives you the option of whether to choose Belotero again in the future for further facial rejuvenation. The results are expected to last anywhere from 6-12 months depending on the individual response and areas treated. The effects tend to be longer lasting than with other HA fillers*.
